In breaking news, this former Leaf and top-10 NHL draft pick could be finished with his NHL career after being released from his PTO.

Nick Ritchie Released from St. Louis Blues' Training Camp

Nick Ritchie was drafted 10th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2014 NHL entry draft. However, his NHL career has yet to pan out and appears to be fizzling. The big, physical forward was released today from his PTO with the St. Louis Blues.

Ritchie Spent Less Than a Year With the Leafs Before They Moved On

Ritchie was a Leaf for just a brief stint in 2021-22 when he came back to play for his hometown club. After starting the year off in the top-6, he quickly dropped to the fourth line. In 33 games with the Leafs, Ritchie only managed to put up 2 goals and 7 assists.
He was traded in February of 2022 to the Arizona Coyotes along with a conditional draft pick in exchange for defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin and forward Ryan Dzingel.
