Simmonds Responds To Retirement Announcement On Social Media

The 35-year-old responded to posts announcing his retirement by noting that he had not technically announced anything in regards to his status in the NHL.
Did not announce my retirement !!!

Celebrating Simmonds' Storied Career.

While Simmonds most recently played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, he is more well known for his time with the Flyers. The NHL veteran played 584 games with the Flyers, putting up 203 goals and 175 points in that span.
In total, Simmonds has played 1037 games so far in the NHL and has 263 goals and 263 assists. He last played 18 games for the Leafs last season. His last game came on April 8th, 2023, a 7-1 victory against the Montreal Canadiens.
At 35-years-old Simmonds is certainly young enough to make an NHL comeback should he want to. That being said, a team would need to be willing to sign the veteran, something that has yet to be seen.
