Brendan Shanahan, President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, faces the task of rebuilding after deciding not to retain Kyle Dubas as the General Manager. This decision, although surprising to some, was seen as understandable by others, especially considering years of consistent disappointment.
These candidates include Jason Botterill, former GM of the Buffalo Sabres; Marc Bergevin, former GM of the Montreal Canadiens; Peter Chiarelli, former GM of the Edmonton Oilers; and Brad Treliving, former GM of the Calgary Flames.
From an outsider's perspective, not as a Leafs fan, I'd personally pick Treliving as my top choice. Given the success he achieved in Calgary, I believe he would be an excellent choice for a major hockey market like Toronto.
