On July 1st, John Klingberg joined the Maple Leafs and signed a one-year deal worth $4.15 million. Money alone wasn't enough to attract him, though.
During an interview with the Leafs' correspondent, Luke Fox, Klingberg explained that Brad Treliving's strategies played a crucial role in convincing him to join the team.
He basically said that more moves are coming. Klingberg knew that other players would join the team after him. It seems to have convinced him.
Another Move Coming?
Brad Treliving clearly isn't done for the summer. He'll likely trade Matt Murray, and we could see him acquire more players before the start of next season.
With all the reported complications in the negotiations with William Nylander, it wouldn't be surprising to see him leave as well. If that happens, they'll need to find a replacement.
Treliving has surprised many people since July 1st, and he might just have another trick up his sleeve.
