The Toronto Maple Leafs are about to embark on a new season. Today they gave the fans and media a look at what their new lineup could look like.
Maple Leafs Reveal Their Opening Night Lineup
The Toronto Maple Leafs made several big moves during this offseason that have affected their lineup. They also had a couple of surprise names make the roster to start the year. Now the expected line combinations have been announced.
Noah Gregor and Fraser Minten will play in the bottom six after earning roster spots with their play in training camp. Matthew Knies will also start his official rookie campaign on the third line alongside Minten.
On defense, Morgan Rielly continues his first-line role. Newcomer John Klingberg will patrol the second unit with Jake McCabe. The third pair has two familiar faces, Mark Giordano and Timothy Liljegren.
This lineup will look to improve upon the second-round exit that they attained last season. The season begins for the Maple Leafs against Canadian rival the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday.
