New Report Delivers the Ultimate Blow to Ryan Reaves and the Leafs
A new report has just surfaced that has delivered the ultimate blow to Ryan Reaves and his future in Toronto, and if he will be able to find himself in the lineup any time soon.
Report has Reaves On the Outside Looking in For Toronto's Lineup
Brad Treliving is getting his fair share of criticism in his first year as GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Most notably for his poor signings of John Klingberg and Ryan Reaves. With Klingberg out on LTIR, it just leaves Treliving paying for his mistake in Reaves.
Reaves, who hasn't been in the lineup much in Toronto over the past few weeks, just got delivered a massive blow from Jonas Siegel of the Athletic, who recently graded the Leafs performances at the midpoint of the season. Reaves was given a D-.

Could Reaves be on the Out in Toronto?
Reaves' current deal is a three-year contract with an AAV of $1.5 million. However, that $1.5 is currently being spent to have Reaves sit in the press box, and is unlikely to find his way back into the lineup regularly. The Leafs could place him on waivers and hope that a team picks him up, but there isn't likely a huge market for his services given his salary and performance this year.
The Leafs could look to move him before the deadline, however, this might also prove to be difficult and will result in the Leafs losing some assets to shed his deal. We will see if Brad Treliving is willing to admit defeat on the Reaves signing.
