With the Leafs being eliminated by the Florida Panthers, Nylander didn't delay his next step, promptly boarding a flight back to his home country, Sweden.
Supposedly, Nylander's plan is to team up with his brother, Alex, to represent Team Sweden at the World Hockey Championships. This international event, hosted in Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia, kicked off officially just a day ago.
Nylander boasts an extensive record of representing Sweden in international tournaments. His portfolio includes participation in the U17 and U18 Championships, three appearances for Sweden at the World Juniors, and a couple of stints in the World Championships.
