The future of the goalies in Toronto is causing a lot of excitement and suspense for the summer. We're curious to see what decisions Brad Treliving will make regarding Matt Murray, Ilya Samsonov, and Joseph Woll.

Murray, in particular, is an important part of the puzzle.

What to do with Murray?

Matt Murray had a difficult time last season due to injuries, and he didn't get to play much. The Leafs might choose to buy him out or try to trade him.
It's quite likely that we'll see Murray playing somewhere when before the next season begins. But before that happens, Treliving has another task to accomplish - securing Ilya Samsonov.

Signing Samsonov

The Leafs have shown interest in re-signing Ilya Samsonov, who is currently a restricted free agent. If both sides can agree on the terms, it looks like Samsonov will be back in Toronto.
"The Leafs, meanwhile, have shown interest in re-signing pending RFA Ilya Samsonov. As long as both sides can figure out the sweet spot, it looks like he'll be back in Toronto."
Samsonov played a crucial role in the Leafs' successful end to the season and their playoff run. It's understandable that he will demand a higher salary. Some experts have made comparisons in this regard.
They predict that Samsonov's next contract could be around $4 million for four years, similar to Carter Hart's deal. Their career statistics are quite similar as well. Hart has played for the Flyers for five seasons and has a record of 84 wins, 84 losses, and 26 ties. He has a save percentage of .906 and a goals-against average of 2.96.
On the other hand, Samsonov has a record of 79 wins, 32 losses, and 13 ties in four seasons. He has a save percentage of .908 and a goals-against average of 2.65.
However, it's important to note that Hart plays for Philadelphia , while Samsonov played for both Washington and Toronto, which are strong teams. If Samsonov and the Leafs can agree on a similar contract, we can expect them to sign the agreement soon.
Who would you choose? Samsonov or Murray?
