The Toronto Maple Leafs are off to a solid start in 2023-24, but if they want to be considered as an elite team in the NHL, they clearly need to make some changes on the blue line and in net.
After a solid run in Calgary, the 28-year old has officially requested a trade from the Flames, with the Maple Leafs being the first team linked to the 6-foot-6, 248 pound defenseman.

Now, the trade rumours are circulating, and one outlet has reported that a very intriguing deal has been offered to the Flames by former General Manager Brad Treliving.
#LeafsForever close to acquiring Zadorov for Klingberg and Minten.
A massive boost to the Maple Leafs blue line
While it's yet to be reported by any of the league's top insiders, this would seemingly be a solid deal for both parties, as it would help Toronto get away from Klingberg's $4.15 million cap hit, while landing an impactful defenseman on both ends of the ice.
Giving up Minten is something that Leafs fans certainly wouldn't be 100% in favour of, but getting rid of Klingberg and landing someone that will immediately impact their top-four would be a good move, so keep an eye on Calgary and Toronto over the next few days and weeks.
