A rumor has started to circulate regarding William Nylander and his options to move to another team. His agent, Lewis Gross, now has Treliving's permission to speak to other teams.
Nylander Could be Looking Towards the West Coast with His Agent Given Permission to Talk to Other Teams
It was recently discussed by Eklund of HockeyBuzz.com that there is a rumor going around that Nylander's agent Lewis Gross will be speaking to the Anaheim Ducks.
"While they aren't likely to eat cap money, they could take on salary, which is why there are rumblings that Anaheim may have been permitted to talk to the agent of the Leafs' William Nylander... It is widely known that Nylander would like to play for the Kings in SoCal...you can still live in Manhattan Beach if you are a Duck...is this an option for Nylander?"
Nylander has had a great season so far, with 46 points in 32 games. The Leafs foward however is not extented as of yet, which can lead to speculation on where he will play.
Nylander Can Bring Leadership and Be A Top Line Player for the Ducks
What Nylander brings to the table with him on a team like Anaheim is an immediate top line forward. He would be their best player on the ice, with Mason McTavish currently holding that position at 24 points in 27 games.
He would be a leader and mentor to 2nd overall pick in 2023 Leo Carlsson. Carlsson has 15 points this year so far but has been out with injury and will still be for a few more weeks. Both players are Swedish and that could help Carlsson when in need of advice.
The top line of McTavish-Carlsson-Nylander would be a dominating line for many years. It is uncertain what the Ducks would have to lose to get Nylander. But if he goes into free agency after this year, it could be nothing to lose and everything to gain.
