Sheldon Keefe Reveals the Plan for Young Goalie Dennis Hildeby
The Leafs' head coach Sheldon Keefe discussed his expectations about the young goaltender Dennis Hidleby after he got called up by the Maple Leafs.

This season has been very difficult for the Leafs' goaltending unit. With Joseph Woll injured and Ilya Samsonov playing so badly he got sent in the AHL, the Leafs have been forced to promote Dennis Hildeby to assist Martin Jones.

Keefe spoke out about what he expects from the young goalie, and discussed his plan for him in a recent interview:
"Take each day as it comes and try to get him up to speed at the NHL level ... get him comfortable. He's the second guy right now. Your job is to be ready."
Hildeby's the Leafs' Best Option, Even if He's Not NHL Ready
Treliving didn't have much of a choice about his goalie. He had to do something with Samsonov, and a trade would've brought nothing positive in Toronto. They would probably have needed to give assets in order to send him to another team.
However, things could be worse. Without Hildeby's great performances this season in the AHL, Treliving would've had no choice but to make a trade or desperatly wait until Woll's recovery.
Even if the 22-year-old goalie's possibly not ready for the NHL level yet, he fills an important void in Toronto.
"It's a different animal."
Although not fully prepped for the big league, Dennis Hildeby's presence is critical given the current goalie woes of the Maple Leafs.

But don't be surprised if Hildeby doesn't see a lot of action. Martin Jones should play most games until Woll returns.
