Fans appear to be a little nervous with the latest trade proposal that would see Radko Gudas don the blue and white Maple Leaf. It could happen at some point.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were pretty loud this offseason, adding the likes of Chris Tanev and Oliver Ekman-Larsson into their defensive core. But some feel they're still not sharp enough. Per Hockey Patrol and via Heavy.com, one suggestion is the Leafs could and should bring in Anaheim Ducks right-handed defender Radko Gudas.
The rumored deal would see the Leafs send Timothy Liljegren and a 2027 first-round pick in exchange for Radko Gudas, who could slide into a second-pair right defenseman role. As desperate as the Leafs need a nasty presence on their back end, many fans feel this is too rich of a price. Liljegren has an upside, and surrendering a first-rounder feels steep.
Proposed trade: Maple Leafs get: D Radko Gudas
Ducks get: D Timothy Liljegren, 2027 first-round draft pick

The Leafs are clearly trying to add some grit to their defense, and Radko Gudas would certainly bring that with 128 penalty minutes and a +14 rating last season with the Ducks. It seems unlikely that Toronto's GM Brad Treliving would pull the trigger on this deal. Trading both Timothy Liljegren and a first-round pick, especially after recently extending Liljegren, simply doesn't make sense. It's a move that would likely drive LEafs fans mad.
While the Leafs are no doubt under some duress to add more muscle before the trade deadline, they likely won't part with such valuable assets for Radko Gudas.
