An analyst predicted what Mitch Marner's next NHL deal will look like as rumors surrounding the player's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs intensify.
At this point, no one knows what will happen to Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He could be either traded or signed to an extension, which could happen in the coming months, during the season, or next summer.
Right now, he still has a year on his contract with a no-move clause.
With all those debates going around, TSN's analyst and former Leaf Carlo Colaiacovo decided to share his thoughts on another Marner-related topic: his next contract.
During an intervention on First Up, he said that Marner could get something around $11.5M and $13.25M in free agency.
"What if the people that love Mitch Marner, love Marner as a player at the salary he is making right now or less than that and not at the salary he is likely going to command in free agency, which is somewhere between $11.5 and $13.25 because that's the Toronto salary that he's put himself in."
With the draft on the horizon and all the action we saw this week so far in the NHL, excitement is in the air.
Stay tuned as we report the latest development related to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
