The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't closed the door on a potential Mitch Marner trade, and the latest proposal would now send him West to the Utah Hockey Club.
There have been countless trade proposals put into the world involving Mitch Marner this off-season, but few of them have seen this many players involved in a blockbuster deal. This latest deal comes from a fan on PuckPedia, and it's safe to say that it would shake up both rosters and give them all exactly what they need moving forward.
The deal would see no less than 11 players swap sides, with the main moving pieces being Clayton Keller and John Marino for Mitch Marner and Timothy Liljegren. On paper, the deal is brilliant for Toronto, as they get an upgrade on the blue line and find a young, All-Star caliber player to join Auston Matthews and this offensive group.
For Utah however, the deal makes less sense, as Liljegren, Timmins and Kampf are not upgrades to their roster, while they now have Marner for a season as they look to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs in year one before he hits unrestricted free agency in the summer.
If a deal is made with Marner, it's unlikely to involve so many moving pieces, but if Toronto could get a rising star and another boost to their blue line, they'd be silly not to do it.
