NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is getting hit hard from all sides after making some concerning comments over CTE.
Oh and if that wasn't bad enough, Bill Daly supports his fellow compatriot.
"Asked Bill Daly whether the #NHL's viewpoint has changed with additional medical studies that show a definitive link between CTE and repeated blows to the head. "No," Daly said. "I think the science is still lacking."
Bettman denied that head hits can lead to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)—a serious brain condition from repeated head trauma—and fans are outraged about that perspective since it contradicts the league's player safety views when it comes to concussions.
A message directly to Gary Bettman - there is NHL player blood on your hands. #EndCTE
He's been under fire from agent Allan Walsh since the news came out about former NHLer Greg Johnson.
Former NHL player Greg Johnson, who played 14 seasons in the league, has been posthumously diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, the brain-withering disease linked to repetitive brain trauma in contact sports.
NHL fans and stakeholders are hoping the league steps up and addresses these concerns to prevent future players from developing such a serious condition.
