The deal is for one year and carries a cap hit of $1.18 million, a fairly solid deal for both parties after Dewar tallied five points in 17 games for the team a year ago. In the previous two years with Minnesota, the fourth liner put together solid 18 and 14 point campaigns, and with the Leafs needing depth, this is a good move that gives them just that.
There's still some moves for Toronto to make if they want to be genuine Stanley Cup threats in 2025, but as we saw in Florida, teams need quality depth for cheap, and in Dewar, that's exactly what they are getting.
