In breaking news, the Leafs were just dealt a huge blow at their game-day practice today, as this key player was not present during the skate.

Tavares Absent During Today's Pre-Game Skate

The Leafs have had trouble keeping everyone healthy this season, as a flu bug ran its course earlier this year, and has now made its return. Tavares did miss a game due to illness but was back for the Leafs' win against the Flyers on Thursday. The details of the absence have yet to be revealed.
John Tavares is not present as the skate begins.
Tavares is a key component of the Leafs' offence, especially on faceoffs. While his production has slowed this season, his absence will be felt as the Leafs try and extend their current win streak, especially as games start to matter more down the stretch.
Hopefully, for Leaf fans, there is a good explanation for the absence.
