The Leafs may have a potential injury problem after a late play knocked out Starter Ilya Samsonov

Samsonov Leaves Game Vs Toronto Late Due To Injury

Toronto Maple Leafs Goaltender Ilya Samsonov left Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oilers, struggling to get up following an Edmonton goal late in the third period.
Samsonov left on Edmonton's third goal, needing time to get up on his own, later leaving before being replaced by backup Martin Jones.
What happened to aggregate Samsonov's injury isn't currently clear, but appeared to look as a lower body injury, a diagnosis not confirmed. Samsonov did not return to the game, with Toronto winning 6-3.
Samsonov, 27, is 18-6-7 on the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs, with a 3.12GAA and a .889sv%. With justunder four minutes, Martin Jones entered the matchup, with Samsonov having given up three goals in the third period.
Having struggled early in the year, Samsonov had a rebound since return from a conditioning stint in the American Hockey League with the Toronto Marlies, sharing the crease alongside Jones and Joseph Woll as a three-man tandem for the Maple Leafs, now with an uncertain situation in net with Samsonov's injury status.
