While Seider, who stands at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds has shown that he can get it done in all phases of hockey, he hasn't yet flourished physically in the NHL, but that changed on Saturday. With the game in the balance, the two came together, and while it may have looked like a fight between two players with limited experience dropping the gloves, it certainly entertained the sold out crowd in Nashville.
Unfortunately for Detroit and their fantastic goaltending on the day, it wasn't enough to inspire the team, as they fell 1-0, dropping their lead in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race to just one point over the Washington Capitals. On the other hand, Nashville solidified their playoff spot with the victory, going nine points up on the St. Louis Blues who sit in ninth place in the Western Conference, who were able to grind out the win despite the show of dominance from Seider.
This will be a big moment in the career of Seider, who has flashed so much talent on the blue line, but if he can continue to improve his fighting and his physicality on the ice, we may be looking at one of the league's very best players in a few short years.
