The NHL just dropped the hammer on Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly with a suspension!

The discipline came in the waning seconds of Saturday's Battle of Ontario with the Ottawa Senators. Rielly delivered a cross-check to the head of Senators center Ridly Greig right at the end of the game. Greig, with just 5.1 seconds left, had just zipped into the Maple Leafs zone and slammed a slap shot into an empty net, sealing a 5-3 Ottawa win and sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

League Takes Action Following Reilly cross-check

This suspension is a clear message from the NHL about the importance of player safety and fair play. Either way this will be a hot topic of conversation among hockey fans everywhere.
The league has decided to have an in person hearing for Rielly which means the suspension will be 5+ games.
Who broke the code? Reilly for the retaliation, Greig for slapping it instead of tapping it, or both.
