Jake McCabe, a player for the Toronto Maple Leafs, faced disciplinary action after delivering a high hit on Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins during a game. The incident, which involved a crosscheck to Marchand's face away from the play, prompted a meeting with Player Safety.
McCabe Fined $5,000 For Hit Crosscheck On Marchand
As a result, McCabe was fined $5,000, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), for his actions.
Additionally, the game saw other penalties as well: Boston's Charlie McAvoy and Charlie Coyle were each fined $5,000 for their hits on Tyler Bertuzzi, adhering to the same CBA regulations. Despite the fine, McCabe avoided suspension and will continue to play for the Maple Leafs.
