This afternoon a new report from NHL insider Darren Dreger has given an inside look into the Toronto Maple Leafs head coaching situation. He has revealed who the favorite is at the moment to be behind the bench in Toronto for the 2024-25 season.
The expectation since the end of the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs has been that current head coach Sheldon Keefe will be fired. At the moment no decision has been made but according to insider Darren Dreger, the expectation is still for a new head coach to come in this offseason.

As he continued on Darren Dreger also pointed out that the Toronto Maple Leafs likely already have a preferred candidate. According to his sources he expects Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs to make an aggressive push for former St. Louis Blues head coach Craig Berube.
Without question, he is a top candidate if the Toronto Maple Leafs make a coaching change. He is a hot common around the National Hockey League, as we know, Craig Berube did interview for the position of head coach of the Ottawa Senators, though they unveiled Travis Green now as their new head coach,» Dreger explained whilst pointing to New Jersey as highly interested in Berube as well.
Darren Dreger is the latest source to indicate that the Stanley Cup winning head coach could be the man in Toronto. After turning down the job with the Senators and being a candidate in New Jersey many wonder if he is waiting to see if he gets an offer from the Maple Leafs.
