The Toronto Maple Leafs have been keeping the details quiet around William Nylander's injury, now it has been revealed what has caused him to miss game 1.

In breaking news today, the details of William Nylander's injury have been revealed. Insider Jordan Schmaltz has revealed that Nylander is suffering from an upper body injury that he suffered in game 82, however, the extent of that injury is unknown. Here is what he had to say on social media.
🚨BREAKING: Okay Folks, here's what I'm hearing per #sources regarding #88 Willy Styles Nylander. It is believed to be an upper body ailment that he's dealing with as a result of a hit taken in game 82. Not going to get into specifics or pretend to guess the full extent of the injury but obviously it kept him out of game #1 and very well could be the same for game #2. Good news is, his chin was skating at the morning twirl in a regular sweater at The TD Bank Garden. #LeafsForever fans we'll see if he suits up tonight but as TO media reported earlier .. he was taking part of the scratches skate. Which leads me to think he isn't going tonight. Again, let's see how the afternoon progresses for the high flying Swede.
No one really knows if Nylander will be in the lineup tonight, however, as it has been pointed out, he didn't practice like he would be taking part in game 2 against the Bruins. It's clear, though, that the Leafs missed his scoring ability in game 1 and would benefit greatly from having him on the ice.
We will see if he suits up for game 2 tonight against Boston.
