Elliotte Friedman dropped a massive update on Craig Berube and the Toronto Maple Leafs in an intervention on the Jeff Marek Show.
As the Leafs navigate the process of hiring a new head coach after they made the decision to part ways with Sheldon Keefe, an update from Friedman suggests their choice has already been made.
Over the past week, we've reported that the Maple Leafs' management met once with Todd McLellan, and twice with Craig Berube:
"dreger on tsn1050 says the leafs met with berube on saturday *and* parts of yesterday

The former St. Louis Blues head coach also met with the Winnipeg Jets:
However, this doesn't stop Elliotte Friedman from believing he will be hired by the Maple Leafs:
"elliotte friedman on the jeff marek show says berube is the guy for toronto, it's just when are they going to do this"
It looks clear that the Leafs' general manager Brad Treliving should make an official announcement soon. With many other teams looking to hire a new head coach and Berube's great reputation, they shouldn't wait too long before making things official.
Do you think the Toronto Maple Leafs will hire Craig Berube as their new head coach?
