We are fully emersed in waiver-wire season, the time of year where every team tries to sneak their players onto their AHL squads and hope and pray they do not get claimed.
Erik Kallgren Among Those On Waivers Today
The Leafs did not place anyone on waivers today but some former Leafs were placed on the waiver wire by their new teams. Among those who were placed on waivers is Former Leafs goalie Erik Kallgren.
Kallgren joined the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2021 splitting the 2021-22 season between the Leafs and the Marlies.
In his limited NHL time he posted an 8-4-1 record with a 3.31 goals against average and a .888 save percentage. He also got into a few games last season as both Ilya Samsonov and Matt Murray dealt with injuries.
He posted a 3-2-4 record with an .898 save percentage and a 2.67 goals against average.
Kallgren spent most of the past two seasons in the AHL with the Marlies before choosing to test free agency this offseason, electing to sign a one-year, two-way contract with the Devils.
