The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced a wave of cuts following their 5-4 overtime defeat against the Montreal Canadiens last night. Two players are now reassigned to the AHL's Toronto Marlies.
Two Players Leaves the Maple Leafs for the Marlies
The first to leave is goaltender Keith Petruzzelli,24 and a third-round draft pick by Detroit in 2017, who hasn'T play an NHL game yet. Over the past three years, he has played for the Marlies in the AHL and the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL.
A highlight for Petruzzelli was being crowned the ECHL's Goaltender of the Month in October 2021.
A Defenseman And a Goalie Join the Marlies

Following Petruzzelli is defenseman Tommy Miller, another player yet to mark his regular NHL season debut. Last season, Miller took to the ice 40 times for the Marlies and added another 15 appearances with the Growlers. Prior to this, the 24-year-old played five seasons to the NCAA.
Miller was notably the captain for the Michigan State University men's hockey squad.
The Maple Leafs have one more preseason match, facing off against the Detroit Red Wings this coming Thursday night.
