The Carolina Hurricanes have made a serious offer for Toronto Maple Leafs' star Mitch Marner, including Martin Necas and a couple of draft picks.
Despite Necas' unhappiness with his current restricted free agent situation and a hefty asking price of $9 million, the Canes are still in talks to trade the disgruntled forward.

Meanwhile, Marner's camp is reportedly asking for an extension worth $13 million annually over eight years, which the Leafs aren't keen on at the moment.
