The Toronto Maple Leafs need to make major additions this off-season, and after missing out on a key goaltender, they've got some more intriguing options.

Despite putting in a good offer for Jacob Markstrom, the combination of his no-movement clause and the history between GM Brad Treliving and the Flames, the Maple Leafs ultimately missed out on the veteran star.
Now, they will need to turn their attention elsewhere, and NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has weighed in on the situation, revealing their intriguing backup plan to pair with emerging starter Joseph Woll.

With the need to make depth additions in the forward group and some big moves on the blue line, this may be the best option for the Maple Leafs anyway, as it wouldn't require them to give up pieces and would come in fairly cheap. Beyond these two, the likes of Cam Talbot, Dan Vladar (despite being with the Flames) and others may be available, so with star goaltenders off the market, the Maple Leafs may be pivoting towards other options soon.
