Ryan Reaves may be one of the NHL's toughest players, but that didn't stop one small forward from making an attempt to outpower the Leafs Forward.
Small NHLer Takes On Big Man Reaves
Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves got bodied by St. Louis Blues Forward Nathan Walker, the 5'9 Australian national crushing the 6'2 225lbs Reaves to the boards during a puck battle.
Walker, 30, isn't the most physical player, with just 43 penalty minutes in his 126 career NHL games, but showed off his tough side against one of the league's top enforcers. Reaves has 51 PIM's in his last 2 seasons, 7th among active NHLers.
Reaves, 37, recently called to "make Hockey violent again" in the wake on Leafs Defenseman Morgan Rielly cross-checking Senators Forward Ridly Greig at the end of Toronto's game against Ottawa, after the rookie Greig took a slapshot into a Leafs empty net, seen as showboating.
Rielly was suspended for five games earlier today by the NHL's Department of Player Safety, with the belief being Rielly will appeal the ruling.
Walker has 2 penalty minutes this season in 16 games, with 4 goals and 6 points for the St. Louis Blues.
Reaves has 2 points on the season for the Maple Leafs in 26 games, with 20 penalty minutes.
