An NHL reporter strongly believes newly acquired Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz is going to have a breakout season and could see a lot of game action.

With Leafs training camp on the horizon, James Mirtle of The Athletic continued his tradition of fielding fan questions about the upcoming season. One such question this time around centered on which player, aside from Matthew Knies, might have a breakout year, and Mirtle's response was somewhat surprising.
"Picking one of the goalies seems to make the most sense," wrote Mirtle. "Neither are proven. Both have good track records in small sample sizes. And you just never know with goalies. So, Anthony Stolarz, final answer."

- James Mirtle
The Leafs inked goalie Anthony Stolarz on the first day of free agency to a two-year deal worth $2.5 million per year. He likely will have to contend with Joseph Woll for the starting job this year. The Leafs' goaltending situation is far from settled for many, despite Stolarz's Stanley Cup win with the Florida Panthers. He played in only 27 regular-season games last year.
Neither Anthony Stolarz nor Joseph Woll has played more than 30 games in a season, but with Woll's spotty injury history and considering Stolarz's fantastic stats across the board last year, with a record of 16-7-2, .925 SV%, and 2.03 GAA, the 30-year-old could be in store for a big year in Toronto.
One area of concern, or at least that could be a question mark on Anthony Stolarz, is whether he can play in more than 40 games. The Leafs are fortunate in that regard as they have solid depth at the position in Joseph Woll and Matt Murray, who is expected to be the third-string goalie.
It shall be intriguing how head coach Craig Berube juggles things, as Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll are likely to split starts, at least early on, to see if either of them catch fire.
