Tom Wilson was suspended six-games by the NHL after a recent slash to the face of Toronto's Noah Gregor, and now the veteran revealed what happened in the moment.

Now, Toronto's Noah Gregor has opened up on what exactly happened in the immediate aftermath of the incident, revealing that Wilson was very apologetic as he held him up from falling to the ice.
"I don't think he's trying to slash a guy in the face," Gregor said. "I don't think anyone in the league is ever trying to do that. Probably a little reckless with the stick and unfortunately got me, but I'm fine.

"The league will handle it."
While most players around the league would have retaliated in the moment, Gregor seemingly understands that this wasn't intent to injure, but understandably knew that this was an issue the league would handle.
It appears as though Gregor is fine and won't miss any game time, and Wilson will miss Washington's next six games, so all in all, it appears that it was a situation handled correctly by everyone.
