According to a fan-generated trade idea, GM Brad Treliving and Toronto would send Robertson and a 2027 sixth-round pick to Pittsburgh and, in return, snag Acciari from GM Kyle Dubas and a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Aside from ridding themselves of the disgruntled Robertson, Acciari, is a solid replacement for him. The former Leaf was a reliable bottom six grinder before becoming a Penguin, where he signed a three-year, $2 million AAV deal.
For Robertson, it's clear he needs a change of scenery. Despite showing promise, the 22-year-old struggled to secure a consistent spot in the Leafs lineup as he was plagued by injury, and only appeared in 56 games last season where he had 14 goals and 27 points.
