Former Calgary Flames defenseman and pending free agent Chris Tanev is all but officially a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs reportedly have a deal in place to make Chris Tanev a Toronto Maple Leaf when the clock hits 12pm on July 1st.
Tanev, spent last season with the Calgary Flames until he got traded at the NHL trade deadline by the Dallas Stars and helped them make a legit playoff push.
Alain Quevillon of Toronto City News reported that the Leafs have a "deal in place" for defenseman Chris Tanev for July 1st.
"I firmly believe that Chris Tanev will be a Toronto Maple Leaf"
This morning on #FirstUp, @CarloColaiacovo explained why he believes that Chris Tanev will sign with #LeafsForever. Do you agree with Carlo? Let us know! 👇
There is a familiar connection between Gm Brad Treliving and Chris Tanev back in his days in Calgary where he was GM of the Flames. Interesting to see how all this will play out on July 1st.
