Last night the Utah Hockey Club took part in their first draft in franchise history and after the first round, their GM Bill Armstrong accidentally revealed the team's new name.
The Utah Hockey Club finally got its first chance to operate on a grand scale after relocating from Arizona. During the NHL Draft, they made two first-round selections. The first was the son of Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla, Tij Iginla.

They then followed that up by trading back up into the first round of the NHL Draft and selecting center Cole Beaudoin from the Barrie Colts of the OHL.

After the draft Utah Hockey Club GM spoke to the media. While answering a question about drafting Tij Iginla he accidentally revealed what the new name of the Utah Hockey Club is expected to be.
That's when we knew he was gonna be a Utah Yeti I think. I'm not allowed to pick the name but I think the little kids in Utah vote about 25 times a day so I think they got it.
While Bill Armstrong's comments do not necessarily confirm the new name he does reveal the organization expects it to be Utah Yeti. For anyone who has followed this process, this will not come as a surprise. Utah Yeti has been one of the favorites in the voting process and now seems to be winning in a landslide.
As more information is provided by the Utah Hockey Club or other sources regarding the naming of the team we will pass it along to you.
