Ryan Reaves was spotted sporting this new piece of protective equipment during practice after he was injured during the fight with Nicolas Deslauriers of the Flyers.

Ryan Reaves is one of the few players in the NHL who has been grandfathered into being able to play without a visor. However, after he sustained an eye injury during his fight with Nicolas Deslauriers, he was seen wearing a visor for the first time in his career during Leafs' practice.

Now wearing a visor

Ryan Reaves was vocal about his dislike for the visor as he hasn't worn one in his entire career and hated it.

He made his comments to the media after practice, pointing out how horrible the experience was and how much he hated it, while teammate Max Domi gave him some reassurance that he looked good in it.

How'd it feel today?

"Horrible," he said with a big smile. "I hate it."

Max Domi chimes in, "He looks really good."
Ryan Reaves has some bigger worries than his visor, though, as he continues to fight for a spot in the lineup down the stretch for the Leafs. While he has been playing well on the fourth line, he still needs to prove that he can play with the speed that will come with the postseason, and justify that he isn't just there for the physical aspect, even though that is a big selling point, especially for the post-season. He has cemented himself as one of the NHL's toughest enforcers, and that could be enough to get him into the lineup in the postseason.
