The 2024 season ended in incredibly disappointing fashion for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and there were plenty of factors that played into what would be a dramatic seven-game series defeat at the hands of the Boston Bruins. One of those factors was the absence of William Nylander, who was dealing with health issues at the time, and now, after very little was officially revealed, the rising star has opened up on what happened.
According to Nylander during an interview, he was dealing with a previous issue with migraines, that are sometimes so bad that they effect his vision, but he would go on to say that he worked on getting that fixed this off-season.
This is a major positive for the Maple Leafs, as Nylander was their second best player a season ago, and if they are to finally make a deep run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, it will be on the back of him and Auston Matthews. With a Stanley Cup drought dating back to 1967, many believe the Maple Leafs are cursed, but not according to Nylander, who has the utmost confidence that this is the group that can get it done.
With some major additions throughout the roster, the Maple Leafs come into 2024/25 brimming with optimism, and if things can click like we've seen before, this may finally be their year.
