Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals has been a fan of the Capitals off-seasons moves, but the star forward is looking for more.
During a media scrum, the legendary forward was asked about how the team can improve, to which he gave a pretty hilarious response, saying that it wasn't his job, but he would bring Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid to Washington if he could.
While Ovechkin was kidding about adding Crosby and McDavid, as the Capitals would run out of cap space very quickly, he has to be pleased with the Capitals off-season moves, as they brought in Pierre-Luc Dubois among other prominent names to bolster their roster.
The Capitals made a surprising return to the NHL playoffs last season, finishing in the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Even after getting swept by the Presidents' Trophy winning New York Rangers, the Capitals had to be happy with their season, as they were expected by many to miss the playoffs entirely.
As for Ovechkin, he continues his climb towards Wayne Gretzky's all time goals record. After scoring 31 goals in the 23-24 campaign, he will look to continue this pace as he enters his age 39 season in the NHL.
