Maple Leafs pull a robbery by signing massive 6 foot 6 defenseman

Touted as one of the tallest players in the NHL at 6 foot 6, Philippe Myers is now a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs and he's ready to throw that huge body around on the ice. This signing that Brad Treliving made could turn out to be a massive win for the Leafs if Myers ends up being more than just a depth defenseman.

Myers is known to be very physical on the ice and has a reputation for being a very good penalty killer as well as being very strong in his own end defensively. The reason why the Leafs could have literally committed a robbery with this signing is that Myers will only be paid the league minimum salary of $775,000, which could prove to be the biggest steal of the season if he moves up the depth chart.

Myers has the size, skill, experience and now the opportunity to make a huge impact on a Leafs team next season that is finally looking to take the next step in the playoffs. The Leafs have nothing to lose here, considering how much of a bargain Myers is.
