The 2024 NHL Draft is just over a week away, and in what is expected to be an unpredictable night, Utah may look to make the biggest splash of all.
It was just a matter of weeks ago that the Utah Hockey Club was officially announced, and now they are already looking to make a splash on a huge stage. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Utah Hockey Club have made it known that they are looking to trade the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, likely in an attempt to land a star player ahead of their debut season;
It's unclear at this point who their exact target would be, but with the need for elite goaltending in their first season as well as star forwards to help their young team, but like Vegas, it's becoming clear that they are pushing for big results early. With a core led by Clayton Keller, Dylan Guenther, Logan Cooley and other emerging talents, the youth is clearly there, but now, they need a star to take them forward.
They've found the perfect year to enter the NHL too, as the lottery of the 2024 NHL Draft is expected to be full of stars, with several franchise changing players available in the top-10, and with that value, they will likely get a fantastic return if they can find a trade partner.
