Allan Walsh Has always been an outspoken member of the NHL community. Yesterday he lived up to that reputation as he called out Gary Bettman for his role in the death of a former NHL player.

NHL Agent Draws Attention To Dangers Of Fighting In NHL

The comments came after former NHL Forward Chris Simon passed away at the age of 52. Walsh believes that his fighting career in the NHL contributed to his early death, and he blames Gary Bettman for not taking action.
I'm angry and devastated at such a senseless tragedy. 101 fighting majors and Gary Bettman still denies the cumulative effects of repetitive head impacts. There is retired NHL players blood on Gary's hands. My condolences and sympathies to Chris' family and friends.
The agent later posted a snippet from a 2017 story about Simon. He was reportedly suffering from symptoms of CTE, a common brain condition among professional athletes that suffer repeated concussions.
Simon was a depth forward that played in 782 career NHL games, recording 144 goals and 305 points. He is better known as one of the league's most infamous enforcers, having fought 101 times in his NHL career. He was also suspended eight times, including a 30-game suspension for stomping on a player's leg.
