After months of anticipation, the investigation into gold medal-winning Team Canada at the 2018 World Junior Championships is climaxing. TSN's Rick Westhead, a seasoned reporter on the case, has dropped a bombshell update .

Unraveling the Investigation: Insights from TSN Reporter Rick Westhead

Several criminal lawyers who specialize in SA cases have told me over the past days that former 2018 World Juniors players facing prosecution for allegations in London, Ont., might face charges of SA and forceable confinement. Alex Formenton's attorney Daniel Brown, told me today that the former Senators player has not been charged with either of those offences.

Westhead declined to elaborate on what Formenton has been charged with.
If Formenton has been charged with common allegations, he faces a maximum 10 years in prison if he's found guilty. People convicted of SA a maximum of 14 years.
While Alex Formenton, one of the players implicated, hasn't been formally charged yet, Westhead outlined potential charges he could face.
According to Westhead, Formenton's attorney, Daniel Brown, confirmed that the former Ottawa Senators player hasn't been charged with SA or forcible confinement. However, if he faces common allegations, he could look at up to 10 years in prison if convicted, with SA carrying a maximum sentence of 14 years.
Formenton made headlines on Sunday as the first player to turn himself into the London Police, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding saga.

Implications for Other Rumored Players: McLeod, Foote, Dube, and Hart

Yet the drama doesn't stop there. Four other players, Carter Hart of the Philadelphia Flyers, Michael McLeod and Cal Foote of the New Jersey Devils, and Dillon Dube of the Calgary Flames, are rumored to be involved. In the last week, Dube, Foot, and McLeod have been removed from their NHL team rosters on the league's app.
The spotlight now shines on Hart, with speculation mounting that he could be among those facing charges. As the investigation unfolds, the hockey world holds its breath for further updates on this gripping story.
