Nosek signed a one-year, league-minimum deal with the Panthers this summer. Given how deep the team is, he is not a lock to make the team. After all, he got into just 36 games last season with the New Jersey Devils. As such, this injury could prove to be very consequential for him. If he misses an extended period of time, it could prove to be very difficult for him to get back into the lineup.
Unfortunately for the veteran forward, the injury did not look good. It appeared as though the 32-year old was going to drive behind the goal line to set up behind the net when Predators defenseman Jeremy Lauzon tripped him up with his stick. This resulted in Nosek losing his footing and going hard into the end boards.
Lauzon was given a minor penalty for tripping on the play.
Panthers trainer Dave DiNapoli made his way onto the ice to tend to Nosek after he stayed down on the ice. He eventually had to help the forward get to the bench with help from other Panthers players as Nosek could not get off the ice on his own. He immediately went down the tunnel towards the locker room upon reaching the bench.
The Panthers have not released an update on Nosek's status. Be sure to stay tuned for an update from the team.
