Very sad news out of the Russian Hockey landscape as news broke on Thursday that 21 year old Russian hockey player Georgi Savin has died.

Reports are that the young man took his own life.
Only the Beginning
Savin, a Moscow native has been playing in the Vityaz Podolsk system for the past few year, and spent some time in the KHL during the 2021-22 season. In 13 games in the KHL, Savin scored one goal which is quite the accomplishment considering young players rarely see the ice in the KHL. This year Savin had been playing in the VHL which is the KHL's second tier, and the MHL which is the top junior league in Russia.
A Tragic End
Not many details are known, but it appears that Savin took his own life. Our sincerest condolences go to Savin's family and friends during this very difficult time.
