According to Kevin Weekes, former goaltender and now media rep for a number of networks, the situation is moving forward very quickly, and they're looking to do something big in a suburb of Atlanta.
"I'm told that the South Forsyth project in suburban Atlanta, which includes an arena, is moving quickly. The design of the plan is progressing rapidly and talks with the builders are taking place."

It would be an up-to-date mega-complex where an amphitheater would be built to host evening shows, but also a hockey team.
Atlanta has already hosted an NHL team in the past, with the Flames and more recently the Trashers.
This big American city could come before Quebec City in the event of a new NHL expansion process. Keep an eye on it...
