Elliotte Friedman introduced his new co-host on 32 Thoughts Kyle Bukauskas today after earlier this summer we found out Sportsnet was moving on without Jeff Marek.
It was found out that Jeff Marek leaked information about players for the 2024 NHL draft this summer which prompted SportsNet to remove him from his hosting position. He has not appeared on any other media outlets as of yet, with his only statement so far addressing that he is seeking other opportunities.
Now as we close in on the start of the new NHL season, Friedman is ready to continue his 32 Thoughts podcast and has a new co-host with him, Kyle Bukauskas. He will be stepping into the role vacated by Marek.

This morning the two held their first podcast as co-hosts together. From the start Friedman shared his thoughts on Merek during the show.
«My belief has always been, it's Jeff Marek's story to speak about first and that's the way I'm going to leave it. When Jeff talks, some day after that, I will talk. Jeff is a great broadcaster, he brought out the best in me in this podcast and he's a huge reason why it's got to where it is. I will miss his stupid weird ideas, and I will miss working with him,» Friedman added. «As great as he is a broadcaster, he's an even better person I believe Jeff will land on his feet. I look forward to seeing what the next chapter in his life is.»

Friedman included in the show that SportsNet offered him the chance to quit the show after Marek's departure, but he chose to continue with one solo episode in August before Bukauskas joined him.
Friedman added about continuing the broadcast to do so for the fans as well as for himself.
«I'm going to take that gut punch and continue going in spite of it one of the major reasons I wanted to continue the pod is because I love it. I love doing this podcast. I love everything about it. But number two, it's because I believe in a lot of things I believe in the audience. I have never taken the audience for granted. We are very, very lucky that we have a loyal audience.»
The first episode is packed with NHL material which includes the tributes for Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau,
Sidney Crosby extension talks in Pittsburgh and
Mitch Marner's future in Toronto.
