Abruptly losing Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau is a stunning blow for everyone across the hockey world.
As a tight-knit community, we know we can lean on each other for support through this process.
A perfect example of is the Snow family. Chris Snow, who was a beloved member of the Calgary Flames organization and served as their Assistant GM, sadly passed away from ALS in September 2023. His wife, Kelsie, who is active on social media, recently shared her support for Meredith Gaudreau, wife of Johnny.

She also revisited a previous tweet from May 2022, when Johnny hockey scored the game-winning goal that sent the Flames past the Dallas Stars in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Johnny was a hero to all of Flames nation and small hockey players on the side everywhere. Matthew was inspiring his own way, and recently began a coaching career after retiring from minor league hockey. Both played together at Boston College, a college commitment they both made together. Both were tiny in size, but had giant hearts of determination, courage and humility.
We need to support those who are grieving this senseless tragedy. It's a hard time for everyone, but people like Kelsie-and, of course, Johnny and Matthew-remind us of the strength, compassion, and kindness our community needs right now.
Hopefully, the NHL retires #13 and requires teams to wear patches league-wide remembering the two brothers, ensuring their legacy lives on every time teams hits the ice.
