Johnny Gaudreau's wife announces pregnancy just a week after his tragic passing

The past 10 days have been incredibly heartbreaking for anyone involved in the NHL as a player, executive or a fan, and now, the story continues to get even more heartbreaking. Not only were the vigils for Johnny Gaudreau held on the third anniversary of his wedding to Meredith Gaudreau, but now, the story gets sadder after she made a shocking announcement.

The announcement was that for the past few weeks, they had been a family of five, announcing the couple were expecting their third child in the past three years, with not a dry eye in the house as she showed incredible strength through her speech and tribute to her late husband.

At 31-years of age, the passing of Gaudreau and his brother Matthew simply doesn't get any easier as time goes on, and this, combined with Matthew's wife expecting their first child, it's incredibly hard to stomach for anyone. Through what has been the toughest few weeks of their life, we hope that the Gaudreau family can continue showing their incredible strength that has made them a beloved family in many cities throughout Johnny's career, and wish the best to the family as they continue to grow through unimaginably tough circumstances.
