Katie Gaudreau's heartfelt tribute to her brothers after tragedy revealed
Katie Gaudreau, the younger sister of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, just shared a deeply moving post that reflects the immense loss she and her family are facing.
Katie, who was about to marry when this tragedy struck, wrote:
To know these two men was to love them. There are no words to capture the bond our family shared. The world knows there would never have been a John without Matty or a Matty without John. You were the best big brothers a little girl could have hoped for. This isn't goodbye, because I'll never stop saying your names and honoring you both. I'll take care of Mom, Dad, Kristen, Mer, Madeline, and your children.
Katie's pain and her heartbreaking transition from the «most beautiful weekend» to the «worst weekend» is unimaginable. The brothers were heading home from her wedding rehearsal, set to be a part of her special day as groomsmen and then their lives were taken from them by drunk driver, Sean Higgins who hit them with his car.
Higgins tried to overtake a car on the left, and when the SUV blocked him from merging back in, he lost his temper. Instead of waiting, he recklessly tried to pass on the right and ended up hitting their bikes, killing the brothers.
Our hearts go out to Katie, her dad Guy, and the entire Gaudreau family during this unimaginable time. Stay strong.
