Steve Kozari was involved in a brutal collision on the ice on Saturday, and now the NHL have released a statement on his condition.

The ice can be a dangerous place for anyone whether it be an official or a player, and that was shown in a brutal way on Saturday when veteran official Steve Kozari was stretchered off the ice following a collision with Lightning defenseman Haydn Fleury.
There were many concerns for Kozari, but now, the NHL have given a very positive update on his condition after being taken to hospital.
Referee Steve Kozari was transported to UPMC Mercy hospital for precautionary reasons after a collision with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Haydn Fleury in the third period of the Penguins-Lightning game this afternoon. Kozari is conscious and alert, has the use of all of his extremities and is expected to make a full recovery.
This is great news to hear given the incidental collision, and while it was a complete accident, this should help everyone, Fleury included breathe a major sigh of relief. A veteran of over 1,000 games, there's no timeline for Kozari's return to the ice, but as long as he's in good condition, that's a major win for him.
