Michael Bunting Facing Suspension for Nasty Elbow Hit
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning faced off in their first game of the NHL playoffs on Tuesday night that saw Tampa Bay obliterate Toronto in front of their fans 7-3.
During the game, Leafs' Michael Bunting made a dangerous hit to the head of Erik Cernak during the third period.
The hit was so severe that Bunting received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct.
The NHL takes hits to the head very seriously, and that is why Bunting is set to have a hearing with the league today which can see him getting suspended for a few games. This will no doubt send a message to the rest of the players.
